Myanmar’s execution spree

For the first time in a decade, Myanmar’s junta has recommenced capital punishment. Four men, including a former politician and a veteran activist, have now been executed. The killings have been widely condemned internationally, and fears are held for the 76 prisoners who have been sentenced to death since Myanmar’s military junta seized power in a coup in early 2021.
