Deathworthy: A mental health perspective of the death penalty

Deathworthy, a report by Project 39A, provides empirical data on mental illness and intellectual disability among death row prisoners in India, and explores the devastating psychological consequences of living on death row. In adopting an interdisciplinary approach to exploring the death penalty, it considers the socio-economic realities of the death penalty, and deeply explores the trauma, mental agony and pain that comes with the ‘brooding horror of hanging’.
