As the proposed date for the execution of Nagaenthran Dharmalingam grows closer, criticism has continued to grow internationally.
Among the voices raised have been those of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute, which released the following statement.
The United Nations Human Rights – Office of the High Commissioner also released a statement condeming Singapore’s proposed action.
On Monday, 8 November 2021, the Singapore High Court stayed the execution pending the hearing on appeal by Mr Nagaenthran Dharmalingam. Emerging reports indicate that he has also tested positive for COVID-19.
